Stranded in the Amazons!

Shifted to a new place few months back...
& this place is no less than a tropical Amazon forest.. :(

I love to be in green surroundings, in fact, my previous home had a beautiful well maintained garden...
but this place is such a mess...

wildly grown...
creepers covering the edges of the house...:(
weeds eating away the soil's nutrition...



no flowers...no colour... only green...

God only knows, when the trees were given a decent trimming, when was insecticide sprayed on them, when were they given manure & when was the soil unweeded...

No... I think even God doesnt remember! ;)

Summers are ok... but rainy seasons are... :(
feels so inhospitable to even walk in the garden.

I die for some sunlight to come inside the house..
But alas!

So I prefer calling my house as a TrEE-House!

There was a time when these worms had plagued my house... they were huge, hairy(!) & scary...
I dont even know what species they are...
I asked my grandmother about them. She told me that they are generally found on creepers & wildly grown plants (Lo & Behold...as expected!) & these worms secrete a liquid, which can cause allergy to skin...
Felt so scared for my pet, Neville... :(
But now, these worms are not there anymore (phew!)...
I & Mom removed them using magazines & broom!

Yeah,I am so brave... :)

A day in the life of an Indian woman..

Somewhere, a girl is walking with naked feet down the Thar desert to fetch water for her family.
She has to carry back the water-filled vessels trying to spill least quantity.
& remember, naked feet in the desert for at least 2 kms & back again...

Somewhere, a woman is tortured every single day after her marriage because her family was not able to give the demanded dowry to the groom side...

Somewhere, a working mother has to complete all her chores & manage the joint family's lunch before she leaves for work at 9.
When she comes back,she has to look after her home-kids,husband,in-laws,dinner.
Next day, work again...

Somewhere, an old woman is sweeping the house of a rich family.
She is sick but hunger is more important than medicines...

Somewhere, the maid is helpless for the fact that she has to give her earnings to her drunkard husband & is unable to pay her child's meagre fee.
Because, if she wouldn't give then her husband might beat her up...

Somewhere, a bar girl is worried that if the bars are banned,then how will she earn...

Somewhere, in Rajasthan, a woman will have to live a life of loneliness & dejection because her husband just died...

Somewhere, a woman doesn't know whether she should feel happy or sad that husband died fighting for the motherland.
Happy because he died a martyr & sad because he died without seeing their unborn child...

Somewhere, an old mother doesn't know on who's shoulder to cry.
Her son is leaving her in an old-age home...
